Työläiskotimuseo – Workers’ Home Museum

Located below Nokia Church you can find the buildings of the Workers’ Home Museum, which showcase the living conditions of the local working class around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The workers’ home buildings include the Sirén Cottage with darkened walls from the Tsarist era and the yellow Isonkivi-Järvinen Cottage with its small outbuildings from the 1920’s. The buildings were relocated on their current site from Koskenmäki on the southern side of Nokianvirta river.
Guided tours can be booked for groups led by authorized guides from the Nokia and Pirkkala Tourist Guide Association throughout the year. The content, route and duration of the tour are tailored to the group’s wishes. A fee is charged on the base of length of the tour.
The Museum is a accessible by public transportation operated by Tampere region. The nearest bus stop “Nokian Kirkko” is near the museum entrance.
Opening hours: The Workers’ Home Museum is open during summer months on the dates announced separately.
Parking: Free parking is available along Yrittäjänkatu street, opposite the Hinttala local heritage museum. The area can be accessed by turning from Nokianvaltatie onto Yrittäjänkatu.
Accessibility: The area is not fully accessible. The yard of the museum can be reached via soft gravel path. The terrain is uneven and the buildings have high doorsteps and stairs. The interior spaces are small.
